Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu was honoured with a monument in Cape Town

The Arch for Arch was unveiled in Cape Town between the St George’s Cathedral and Parliament. The monument was built to commemorate the life of struggle icon and philanthropist Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.

According to Design Indaba, the arch and its design is meant to be a “physical representation of his strength and resilient humanity”.

The stunning monument was financed by Liberty and commissioned by Design Indaba. Speaking at the unveiling, Sydney Mbhele, Chief Marketing Officer at Liberty Group, said: “The Arch is a symbolic memento of what we as a country have achieved, while serving as a reminder to each citizen in the country about upholding the values and spirit of the Constitution.”
